Juventus wait in the wings as Ivan Rakitić wants out of his Barcelona escape room

Juventus had an agreement in place with Ivan Rakitić and will return for him in January, according to AS.

The Croatian midfielder, completely overlooked by coach Ernesto Valverde since the season began, is still being tracked by Italian Serie A Champions Juventus.

The Black and Whites are primed to return to the negotiating table when the transfer market reopens in January.

Both the Italian club and player had an agreement in place this summer – only for Barcelona to dismiss their offer, which they deemed unsatisfactory.

As the report confirms, the Croatian – who played in 34 games last season, scoring three goals and creating seven assists – was one of the most sought-after names of the summer transfer market with various clubs interested in acquiring his services.

PSG offered him a route out only for the player to reject the offer for not wanting to play in Ligue 1.

With three La Liga games in, the midfielder has hardly featured for his club – only managing 45 minutes in total.

As the season goes on and if the situation remains the same, Ivan Rakitić will have to find an escape route to his very own escape room come January – with Juventus waiting in the wings.
