Getafe land Chelsea winger Kenedy

Getafe have reached an agreement to sign Chelsea winger Kenedy on a season-long loan deal, according to Diario AS.

The 23-year-old has spent the last 18 months on loan at Newcastle United but only managed to score three times across 41 appearances for the club.

Kenedy came through the youth system at Brazilian club Fluminense before joining Chelsea in a deal worth €8.6m in the summer of 2015.

However, he has made just 27 first-team appearances for the West London club and has scored just one goal, while he also endured another unsuccessful loan stint at Watford during that time.

The report describes Kenedy’s playing style as ‘technical, explosive and versatile’ while he represented Frank Lampard’s Chelsea during pre-season, scoring in a 4-3 win over Reading.

However, he was never likely to be play a prominent role at the Europa League holders this season and will help Getafe in their return to European football.
