Cristiano Ronaldo: Joao Felix can repeat my success in Spain

Cristiano Ronaldo believes new Atletico Madrid signing Joao Felix can repeat the successes he enjoyed in Spanish football.

The 19-year-old became Atleti’s club record signing when he was transferred from Benfica in a €126m deal last month and has starred in pre-season.

Ronaldo netted a remarkable 450 goals in 438 first-team appearances for Real Madrid and believes his fellow Portuguese international Felix can replicate such success.

“Can he repeat my successes in Spain? I believe that a lot, because he is an excellent player with a lot of potential who can evolve,” Ronaldo told an interview with TVI, as cited by El Mundo Deportivo.

“You can see the same with Bernardo (Silva) although he is already much more mature in this regard.

“It is difficult to make calculations in current football. You bet a lot on the potential and the football industry is different.

“Leaving aside the case of Joao Felix, any player is worth €100m, even without having proven anything,

“There is more money in football. A central and a goalkeeper can be worth €70-80m, I don't agree but this is the world we live in and we have to respect it.”
