Dutch international Donny Van de Beek looks set to sign for Real Madrid in the coming days.
The Ajax midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu in recent weeks, after moves for Paul Pogba and Christian Eriksen look to have faded following the closure of the Premier League transfer window on August 8.
With the La Liga transfer window remaining open until September 2, Real Madrid are expected to do more business between now and then, despite the La Liga season kicking off on August 16.
The 22-year old confirmed that talks are continuing, with a conclusion close to being reached.
"It is no secret that my future is being discussed with Ajax.
"Talks about a potential move are ongoing and hopefully we will reach a conclusion soon.
"However, for now I am focused on Ajax and I will play in the game with PAOK later this week."
Ajax are quoting Real Madrid in the region of €45m for the defensive midfielder, as they look to rebuild their squad following the summer departures of Frenkie De Jong, Matthijs De Ligt and Lasse Schone.
