Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa is a injury doubt for the start of the La Liga season.
The Spanish international suffered an adductor injury during Los Rojijblancos final pre-season game against Serie A champions Juventus, with new signing Joao Felix netting twice in a 2-1 win.
Costa was a second half substitute for Alvaro Morata, but manager Diego Simeone confirmed his withdrawal in added time, for Ivan Saponjic, was motivated by an injury for the 30-year old.
The club's medical staff will now conduct tests to assess the extent of the damage, and put an estimate on his potential return to first team action for Simeone's side.
Costa has already been ruled out of Atletico's La Liga opener at home to city rivals Getafe, with his eight-game ban from 2018-19 carrying over for one further match.
