Donny Van de Beek’s Real Madrid move delayed to 2020

Ajax midifelder Donny Van de Beek will not move to Real Madrid until 2020.

According to reports in Mundo Deportivo, the Dutch side have asked both the 22-year old midfielder and Real Madrid to delay the move until next season following an exodus of players this summer.

The Eredivisie champions have already lost key pair Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs De Ligt this summer, alongside Lasse Schone and Mox Wober, as they prepare for the 2019-20 campaign.

Reports in Spain had claimed that a €50m deal had already been reached, with Real Madrid potentially contacted Van de Beek and his representatives directly, however Ajax have denied receiving any formal bid.

La Liga clubs are able to buy players up to September 2nd, and Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is unlikely to bring in his main target, Manchester United's Paul Pogba, after the Premier League transfer window closed on August 8.
