Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms Paul Pogba Manchester United stay

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Paul Pogba will remain at the club for the 2019-20 season.

Pogba stated during United's pre-season campaign that he wanted to move on from Old Trafford for a 'new challenge', with Real Madrid widely reported to be his destination for the new season.

However, despite interest from Real Madrid the Spanish giants never made a formal bid and the Norwegian boss has confirmed that time has run out on a possible deal.

"I have no doubt that Pogba will remain at Manchester United this season.

"He will return to training this week, and he has only missed our game (against AC Milan) due to a minor injury.

"I did not want to risk him for this game, but he should be OK for our first game (against Chelsea)."

Real Madrid are now expected to turn their attention to Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek, with the Dutch international set to sign for Zinedine Zidane's side in the next few days.
