Real Madrid join the hunt for Bruno Fernandes

Real Madrid are to make a move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes in the coming days.

According to reports in Portugese daily newspaper Record, the Spanish giants are set to rival clubs from across Europe for the Portuguese international before the start of the new La Liga season.

Fernandes has been heavily linked with a move away from the Primeira Liga side since the end of the 2018-19 campaign, with Tottenham, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool all interested in bringing the 24-year old in.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have reportedly declined to pay Fernandes' €70m release clause from Marcel Keizer's side, however Tottenham are willing to increase their offer for him as they look for alternatives to Real Betis' Giovani Lo Celso.

Real Madrid are exploring the option of Fernandes, as they look for options themselves, with Paul Pogba's potential move from Old Trafford continuing to stall ahead of the new season.

Sporting are reportedly prepared for Fernandes' exit before the start of the season, with his potential final game against Benfica in the Portuguese Super Cup this weekend.
