Real Betis confirm interest in Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik

Real Betis vice-president Jose Miguel Lopez Catalan has confirmed the club are interested in signing Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik.

The Poland international hit 20 goals for the Italian club last season but it has been claimed they will freshen up their attack this summer and have been linked to Inter striker Mauro Icardi.

Milik joined Napoli in a €32m deal from Ajax in the summer of 2016 but has been beset by injury problems – limiting him to just seven starts in Serie A across his opening two campaigns.

“Milik’s a player that interests us because we’re looking for a striker with his characteristics,” Lopez Catalan told Estadio Deportivo.

“We like him and we are looking for a new forward, but I cannot say any more than that.”

It is claimed that Napoli value the striker at €50m and could be seen as an alternative for Betis to joining Espanyol striker Borja Iglesias, whose contract contains a €28m release clause.

The 25-year-old could form a new-look attack with Nabil Fekir, who has joined the Spanish side from Olympique Lyonnais.
