Neto: I joined Barcelona to win the Champions League

New Barcelona goalkeeper Neto has explained his move to the Camp Nou was driven by his desire to win the Champions League.

The Brazilian joined the Blaugrana from Valencia and will primarily act as a back-up to long-term goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

“From the moment you arrive at Barça, the size is very big, here every year you have the goal of winning the Champions League, it is a source of pride for a professional,” Neto told his press conference, as cited by Marca.

“I had the chance to win it (with Juventus) and I lost the final. For all the players and the fans, the main reason to join Barça is to fight for the Champions League, it's my challenge and I will give my best to try to win it.

“Marc (Andre Ter Stegen) is already here, who has a lot of gravitas and is at the top level, I respect him, but I come to show my work, I have experience and I know what I can contribute and I know my qualities.

“I come to Barcelona to play, to show my work, to grow, if it were not for this, they would not have signed me in.

“The main thing is to work with great enthusiasm, with the professionalism and determination that I have.

“Everything that I have ever lived brings me to this moment in my career.”
