Sevilla are hopeful of landing Galatasaray midfielder Fernando with Roque Mesa heading in the other direction, report Marca.
The Brazilian midfielder is in the final year of his contract at the Turkish giants and he is said by the report to be the ‘number one option’ for Los Rojiblancos, who are aiming to land a deep-lying midfielder.
This is set to be the latest move in the shake-up of the first-team squad at the Andalusian club with Monchi returning as sporting director and Julen Lopetegui now in the dugout.
Sevilla have already made a host of signings this summer with Mannus Dabbur, Diego Carlos, Jules Kunde, Luuk de Jong, Joan Jordan and Lucas Ocampos already signed.
Mesa made 31 La Liga appearances for Los Rojiblancos last season after making his loan move from Swansea City permanent last summer.
“The reality is that I am one of the transferable players here,” Mesa acknowledged in an interview in La Provincia, as cited by Marca.
Fernando previously played for Porto and Manchester City prior to his 2017 move to Istanbul.
