Malaga want €5m for Jony Rodriguez

Malaga will not sell utility man Jony Rodriguez for less than €5m, with SS Lazio chasing the 27-year old midfielder.

The Serie A side have already held talks with Malaga over the move, however the Andalucian club are determined to get their asking price for the former Sporting Gijon player.

Jony, who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Gijon and Alaves respectively, had reportedly agreed with the club that he would be allowed to leave if they did not achieve promotion from the Segunda Division at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

According to Italian football website Calciomercato.it, Lazio are keen to bring him to Italy, however they are unwilling to pay more than €2.5m for a player that is in entering into the final year of his contract.

The other option for Simone Inzaghi's side is to bring him in on loan, with a non-fee loan clause already in his contract, and he join on a free transfer when his Malaga deal expires in June 2020.
