New Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic insists he tries to play with his head and that thinking is more important than physical attributes.
The Serbian has joined Los Blancos in a €60m deal from Eintracht Frankfurt and has given a revealing interview about his playing style and approach to the game.
“I like smart players and that's why I try to play with my head,” Jovic told an interview with 11 Freunde, as cited by Marca.
“When I was a 15-year-old I was playing against people who were 18 and I was scoring 40 goals per season, my growing physique helped me a lot to impose myself then.
“Now I am not a fighter who will run around a lot for 90 minutes. I like the simple things in football and I only use my power when I cannot solve the situation using my head.
“(Former Eintracht Frankfurt boss, Niko) Kovac helped my development a lot and he would never let me rest in training, he was very demanding and he pushed me on.
“I am very grateful to him, he made me a better player and also a better person.”
