Sevilla midfielder Pablo Sarabia set for PSG

Sevilla midfielder Pablo Sarabia is set to join Paris Saint-Germain in a €20m deal this summer, according to multiple reports.

Paris United, a reputable account linked very closely to the Parisian club, say that the midfielder will pen a five-year deal in the French capital worth €4m annually.

The 27-year-old netted 22 goals and provided 16 assists this season for the Andalusian club and has been a model of consistency since joining from Getafe in a €1m deal back in 2016.

The player, who has an €18m release clause, has previously been linked with a move to Chelsea, who are under a transfer ban, and Italian club Roma.

This follows on from a report in Diario AS that PSG are willing to pay €2m more than the player’s release clause as a sign of goodwill and to hasten the move.

The Madrid-native started his career at Real Madrid and even made a Copa del Rey appearance in the first-team before joining Getafe in 2011.

In January, a report in Diario AS cited Sevilla’s ‘anxiety’ over the player’s release clause, with the player’s deal at Los Rojiblancos in the summer of 2020.

Sarabia has scored 42 goals across his three seasons with the Andalusian club.
