PSG agree to sign Sevilla midfielder Pablo Sarabia

Paris Saint-Germain will complete the signing of Sevilla midfielder Pablo Sarabia in a €20m deal, according to Diario AS.

The 27-year-old netted 22 goals and provided 16 assists this season for the Andalusian club and has been a model of consistency since joining from Getafe in a €1m deal back in 2016.

The player, who has an €18m release clause, has previously been linked with a move to Chelsea, who are under a transfer ban, and Italian club Roma.

Sarabia’s contract expires next summer and despite the club’s numerous attempts to extend his stay in the Andalusian capital, he has yet to put pen to paper – while PSG are prepared to pay an extra €2m to push the deal forwards and maintain good relations.

The Madrid-native started his career at Real Madrid and even made a Copa del Rey appearance in the first-team before joining Getafe in 2011.

In January, a report in Diario AS cited Sevilla’s ‘anxiety’ over the player’s release clause, with the player’s deal at Los Rojiblancos in the summer of 2020.

Sarabia has scored 42 goals across his three seasons with the Andalusian club.
