Serie A side AS Roma have bid for Real Betis goal keeper Pau Lopez according to reports in Sky Sports Italia.
The 24-year old signed at the Estadio Benito Villamarin at the start of the 2018-19 campaign, following his release from boyhood club Espanyol, with a five-year contract agreed.
However, he has been linked with a move away from the club after impressing in his debut season – despite having four years still to run on his current deal in Andalucia.
FC Barcelona had been linked with a move for the Spanish international, as a replacement for the outgoing Jasper Cillessen, however Lopez is unlikely to accept a reserve role behind German international Marc Ter Stegen at a crucial stage in his career.
Real Betis will fight to keep hold of Lopez, and they are reportedly some way apart in their valuation of him in negotiations with the Serie A club, who are only willing to pay €20m – with Betis holding out for €25m.
