Matthijs De Ligt remains unsure on FC Barcelona move

Ajax captain Matthijs De Ligt is still unsure about his future, despite sustained interest from La Liga champions FC Barcelona.

Ernesto Valverde's side are widely reported to be the front runners to sign the highly-rated Dutch defender, however they will face competition from Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Juventus.

According to reports in Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo, De Ligt confirmed after the De Oranje's defeat to Portugal in the UEFA Euro Nations League final, that he was still undecided.

"Money is not the problem for me, in deciding.

"The most important thing for me is to go to a team where I will play and have prominence in games.

"I will go away on holiday and decide, as my heart does not yet know where to go.

"i will take my time to decide."

La Blaugrana have already completed the signing of his Ajax and Netherlands team mate Frenkie De Jong, and De Ligt added that playing at the Camp Nou is appealing to him.

"They have great defenders at the club, but competition is not something that frightens me.

"Of course it would be nice to keep playing with De Jong, and of course Lionel Messi, but I must decide what is best for me."
