Mundo Deportivo: Premier League sides want James Rodriguez

James Rodriguez is being pursued by a host of Premier League sides, according to reports in Mundo Deportivo this weekend.

The Colombian international is expected to leave Real Madrid this summer, following a two-year loan at Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, as Zinedine Zidane continues his clear out at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The French boss sanctioned his loan to Germany during his first spell in charge of the club, and he looks unlikely to have a change of heart about keeping him in the Spanish capital.

The Catalan newspaper, which quotes an earlier story from UK media outlet the Daily Express, claims that Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are all interested in bringing the former AS Monaco man to England.

Bayern do have an option to buy Rodriguez, with a pre-agreement in place for €45m to make the deal permanent – however they have shown little indication that they intend to meet the June 15 cut off date for the move.

Rodriguez has endured an inconsistent two seasons in Bavaria, scoring just 15 goals and making 62 Bundesliga appearances under Carlo Ancelotti, Jupp Heynckes and Niko Kovac.
