Real Madrid value striker Raul de Tomas at €35m

Real Madrid value striker Raul de Tomas, who has been on loan at Rayo Vallecano, at €35m according to a report in Marca.

The 24-year-old netted 14 La Liga goals in 32 starts for Rayo this season but it was not enough to save the side from relegation back to the second tier.

The report in Marca claims that the Vallecas-based side held hopes that the in-demand striker may remain at the club next season, but boss Paco Jemez ‘fell off his chair’ when he heard the valuation.

There has previously been reported interest in him from Real Betis and Valencia, however the Madrid native is reported to be keen to stay in the Spanish capital.

Portuguese outlet O Jogo have reported this week, as cited by the report, that Benfica were interested in a deal but were only prepared to pay a transfer fee of €12m.

De Tomas reportedly wants to stay at Los Blancos and fight for a first-team spot under Coach Zinedine Zidane, who previously coached him at the club’s Castilla side.
