Ronaldo: Neymar is not for sale

Real Valladolid president Ronaldo Nazario does not think compatriot Neymar will join his old club Real Madrid this summer.

Reports in Marca this week have claimed the Brazilian could be on his way to the outgoing European champions this summer from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazil international joined the Parisian club from Barcelona in a world record €222m back in the summer of 2017 and has been linked with a return to Spanish football since.

“I don’t know about Neymar, but the stories have been there for many years now,” Ronaldo told reporters.

“There are always a lot of rumours about players of this level but there is nothing concrete or official about them.

“It is normal for this to happen because Neymar is an extraordinary player and any team in world football would want to have him.

“However, from what I see he is not for sale.”

Neymar began his career at Santos in his native Brazil before an acrimonious transfer to Barcelona in the summer of 2014 and has played for two seasons in the French capital.
