Jurgen Klopp: No Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino for Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino are both absent ahead of their clash against Barcelona on Tuesday.

The two star forwards are unavailable for the Champions League semi-final second leg at Anfield, which the Reds trail by three goals and are likely to rely on youngster Rhian Brewster.

“Two of the world's best strikers are not available tomorrow night and we have to score four goals,” Klopp said, in quotes carried by BBC Sport.

“It doesn't make life easier but we will try for 90 minutes to celebrate the Champions League campaign to give it a proper finish.

“We have to make a lot of decisions. Tomorrow night is the third game in six days…Barcelona changed 11 positions at the weekend. We will see what the outcome is.

“Rhian Brewster? He's ready. There is a big chance. It's nearly sure. It's guaranteed, the situations are always like this. In an ideal world, in a season you always have much more players than you can involve in a squad.

“When you're on the bench, you are an option to play.

“Rhian has been in just outstanding shape for the last three or four weeks, but the other players were there as well.

“It's just good so now it's really nice in a difficult situation that we can give him that spot in the squad and have him there to bring on as a striker.

“We are far away from giving up, there is hope and if there is an opportunity to go to the next round, we have to try…we want to celebrate the Champions League campaign, either with a proper finish or another goal.

“If we can do it, wonderful, and if not then fail in the most beautiful way, if you want, with a close result.”
