Liverpool’s Mo Salah an injury doubt to face Barcelona

Liverpool could be without star striker Mo Salah for their Champions League semi final second leg after he suffered a head injury in the Reds Premier League win over Newcastle  this weekend.

The Egyptian international was stretchered off on 73 minutes after he collided with Magpies goal keeper Martin Dubravka, and manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed after the game that he was a doubt for the visit of Ernesto Valverde's side.

The former Borussia Dormund boss stated that Salah did not lose consciousness and he even watched Divock Origi score the winning from the away dressing room.

He will be assessed over the weekend to determine his fitness for the remaining games of the season, with Liverpool chasing the Premier league titles well as looking to overturn a three goal deficit in the Champions League.

Klopp did confirm that Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino will miss the game at Anfield after suffering a minor groin tear in training, but the former Hoffenheim player could return for their final league of the season against Brighton – and the final. if they can turn things around against Barcelona.
