Pogba asks Manchester United to open talks with Real Madrid

Paul Pogba has asked Manchester United to begin negotiations with Real Madrid this summer, according to a report in UK newspaper The Times this weekend.

Pogba has been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, and the 'Pogba to Real Madrid' transfer story is set to dominate back pages in the UK and Spain in the coming months.

French newspaper L'Equipe broke the story in March that the former Juventus midfielder wanted to leave Old Trafford and link up with compatriot Zidane in the Spanish capital.

Zidane has been clear in his admiration for the 26-year old, however he has stopped short of confirming whether or not a bid would be made.

Pogba returned the club where he spent three years as a youth team player, from Juventus back in 2016, for a then world record fee of €105m, however he has reportedly grow frustrated with the club an;d has declined to sign a contract
