Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba wants to speak to Real Madrid

Diario AS say Paul Pogba wants to open transfer talks with Real Madrid while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ‘cannot guarantee’ the player’s Manchester United future.

The Norwegian boss did clarify that he thought the French midfielder would remain at Old Trafford and insists he is ‘determined to succeed’ in England.

Yet this conflicts with the latest reports in Spain that the player’s desire to join the outgoing European champions is real.

“You can't guarantee anything in football but yes, I think Paul's going to be here,” Solskjaer told reporters on Friday.

“I can assure you he's very determined to succeed at Man United.”

The 26-year-old is said to be disillusioned with life in Manchester and has told several teammates that he is hopeful of a change of club, with the outgoing European champions alerted over the situation.

Previous reports in Spain claimed Pogba has a strong desire to win the Ballon d’Or and this would be out of his reach whilst still playing at Old Trafford.

The midfielder returned to United in the summer of 2016 from the Bianconeri in a €95m deal, which was then a world record.
