Barcelona midfielder Carles Alena wants to win the Spanish league title in front of the club’s fans against Levante on Saturday.
The Catalan giants will be crowned La Liga champions should Valencia beat second-placed Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, but if not then the wait is prolonged until this weekend.
“If Atletico do not lose, then we wait until Saturday with our own fans,” Alena told reporters, as cited by Marca.
“The truth is that is what I would prefer, to win it in front of our fans and to celebrate the success with them, but if we win it before then so be it.
“We have been the best team in Spain again this season so you would have to say that we deserve this title.
“Against Alaves we started strongly despite them making it difficult for us and my goal was great build-up play.
“I am happy to help my team to another important three points.”
