Jan Oblak has signed a new long-term contract at Atletico Madrid until 2023, the club confirmed via a statement on Wednesday.
The Slovenian shot-stopper has extended his previous deal at Los Rojiblancos – which was due to run through until June 2021 – by a further two years.
The 26-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain but this new deal is set to increase his annual wage packet to €10m.
The new deal has also increased the goalkeeper’s release clause from €100m to €120m in an attempt to ward off potential suitors.
The Slovenian international has developed into one of the world’s elite goalkeepers in Madrid since his €16m transfer from Benfica in 2014.
Oblak has been a regular in Diego Simeone's starting line-up across the past four seasons and his renewal has long been seen as a priority.
