Real Madrid consider Manchester United defender Eric Bailly

Real Madrid could be set to make a move for out-of-favour Manchester United defender Eric Bailly, according to reports.

Bailly’s current contract at Old Trafford runs through until June 2020, having arrived from Villarreal in the summer of 2016.

The 24-year-old is said to be a ‘top’ target for new Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane with Raphael Varane said to want an exit from the club, according to The Sun.

The Ivorian thrived at the Red Devils in his first full campaign at the club but has since struggled with injuries and form, with just 24 league matches under his belt across the past two seasons.

Madrid are said to be weighing up a €40m move for the defender, who has not been in contention for United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
