Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen ‘must listen’ to offers from Real Madrid and Barcelona, says former Denmark international Jesper Olsen.
Olsen played for Ajax and Manchester United, alongside winning 43 caps for Denmark, while both Spanish giants have been heavily linked with a move for the Denmark playmaker, whose contract at Spurs expires in the summer of 2020.
“Christian is clearly a very important player for anyone, he is world class,” Olsen told reporters.
“He has a lot of qualities and is very unselfish and sometimes that stops him from doing more than what he is actually capable of.
“You do not always notice him too much because of his unselfishness and he is a very important link in the current Spurs team.
“He has great quality, of that there is no doubt, and if you play in that team every week then of course you have those qualities, especially when you are at that end of the table.
“Now there is talk that he might leave and there are reports in the UK that Tottenham are resigned to losing him, so Barcelona and Real Madrid would be a big step for him.
“It would be a big challenge for him but if clubs of that calibre come in for him and they start to talk to you, that is a huge opportunity and you must listen.
“He has been in the UK for a while, having joined from Ajax, and us Danes like to travel…”
