Neymar in talks over new Paris Saint-Germain contract – father

The agent and father of Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has confirmed the player is in talks to renew his contract in the France capital.

The Brazilian joined the Parisians in a world record €222m fee from Barcelona in the summer of 2017 but has long been linked with a return to Spanish football.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is said to be particularly keen on the move, while reports have also linked the star to a shock return to the Blaugrana.

“He is in the second year of his contract (with PSG), so he still has another three years before the end of his contract,” Neymar Snr told UOL, in quotes translated by Get France Football News.

“And we are already talking about a contract extension with PSG…his name has been the subject of rumours ever since he was 17, from the moment that he made his professional debut.

“Neymar has only experienced two transfers in his life but there has been speculation for 10 years. The probability that he doesn’t leave is too big.

“People say ‘Neymar is in all the transfer rumours to all the big clubs in each window.’ That signifies that his career is being well managed, he is always amongst the names (that matter).

“But that does not mean that he will go to one club or another.”
