Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez has reiterated the players are ‘fully behind’ the team’s under-fire Coach Santiago Solari.
Madrid ran out 4-1 victors at Real Valladolid on Sunday despite an unconvincing performance – ending their run of three consecutive defeats.
“It’s tough because things are not going well for us, but Solari is our Coach and we have to be fully behind him,” Nacho told reporters, as cited by Marca.
“This victory does not make us forget that week that we had but when you play for Madrid you have to win every match and always fight for this shield.
“We had wanted to go on our break at the end of the season with another trophy and now this looks unlikely, so it hurts.
“We were absent-minded in the first half, our performance was not tidy and we were unlucky with VAR, but the second half was much better and we reacted really well.”
