The crisis engulfing Celta Vigo is bringing striker Maxi Gomez closer to a summer move to Barcelona, reports Diario Sport.
Celta have dropped into the relegation zone following a run of form which has seen them pick up just four points in their last 11 league matches.
Gomez is said to have a €50m release clause at Estadio Balaidos but should his side be relegated, this clause is set to halve to just €25m, making him imminently more affordable.
The Uruguayan striker netted 17 goals in La Liga last season in his first campaign in European football, leading to a series of top European clubs monitoring his progress.
Gomez has netted just once in his last 11 appearances while the Galician club have struggled in the absence of his strike partner Iago Aspas, who is currently side-lined through injury.
