AS: Celta Vigo to replace Cardoso with Michel

Relegation threatened Celta Vigo are set to replace manager Miguel Cardoso with Michel, as they look to avoid the drop.

According to a report in Diario AS this morning, the Galician club are preparing their second managerial change of the season, to avoid a return the second tier for the first time since 2012.

Cardoso came in to replace Antonio Mohammed in November 2018, however his record of three La Liga wins from 14 games has seen the club slip down to 17th in the table.

The former Nantes boss' cause has not been helped by a long term injury to talisman Iago Aspas, but a 1-0 defeat to Eibar on Sunday appears to be the final nail in his coffin.

Michel, who has managed four La Liga sides in the past, is set to be brought in on an initial short term deal following talks with the club over the weekend.
