James Rodriguez hints at Real Madrid return

James Rodriguez has dropped the biggest hint yet that he is open to a return to Real Madrid this summer from Bayern Munich.

The Colombian is entering the final months of a two-year loan deal at the Bavarian club but has appeared to say that he is open to a return to Madrid this summer.

“At the moment, my contract is with Bayern until June so nothing will happen before then,” James is cited as saying by Marca.

“In Madrid I think I have everything because there is a house for me, there are people who love me…but I cannot say what will happen.

“In football you can never know the future and for now I have a contract with Bayern, we must look to finish the season strongly.

“Do I miss Madrid? The truth is I do, yes.”

The creative midfielder joined Bayern in the summer of 2017 on a two-year loan deal from Madrid but reports suggested he had fallen out of favour under new boss Niko Kovac.

The former Porto and Monaco star spent three seasons at Los Blancos, helping them to two European titles, but started just 13 La Liga games in his final campaign.
