‘Karim Benzema world’s best striker’ – Real Madrid’s Florentino Perez

Real Madrid president has labelled Karim Benzema as ‘the best striker in the world’ and insists the club do not need to sign another frontman.

The 31-year-old has been in impressive goalscoring form this season, netting 18 times and stepping into the limelight following Cristiano Ronaldo’s summer sale to Juventus.

“We have the best striker in the world, you only need to look at the trophies we have won,” Perez told France Football, as cited by Diario Sport.

“I have been hearing pundits for years saying that Madrid need to sign a new number nine, but the reality is we have the best one in world football.

“Our plan is to maintain our stars and prepare for the future, we have brought in players like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes to reinforce our squad over time.

“My thoughts on Paris Saint-Germain? They are a great club who have a close friendship with us, we are both elite clubs and have a strong understanding.

“Nasser Al-Khelaifi (the club’s owner) is doing an excellent job and the more time they have, the better they will be.”
