Juventus would be good for James Rodriguez – father

The father of James Rodriguez – currently on loan at Bayern Munich from Real Madrid – has talked up the possibility of his son joining Juventus.

The playmaker is currently entering the final six months of a two-season loan deal at Bayern Munich, who hold a reported €35m option to sign him permanently.

It was reported by Marca earlier this week that Cristiano Ronaldo phoned James in an attempt to convince his former Real Madrid team-mate to join him at the Bianconeri.

“He has many offers,” Wilson Rodriguez has said.

“They (James and Cristiano) are close, they are very good friends.

“Looking at Italian football right now, that (signing for Juventus) would be a good decision.”

Last month, it was reported The Old Lady’s sporting director Fabio Paratici was to hold talks with the midfielder’s agent Jorge Mendes at an event in Dubai, where the possibility of a transfer will be discussed.

The creative midfielder joined Bayern in the summer of 2017 on a two-year loan deal from Madrid but reports suggested he had fallen out of favour under new boss Niko Kovac.

The former Porto and Monaco star spent three seasons at Los Blancos, helping them to two European titles, but started just 13 La Liga games in his final campaign.
