Cristiano Ronaldo phones James Rodriguez on Juventus move

Cristiano Ronaldo has phoned James Rodriguez to try and convince him to join Juventus in summer, report Marca.

The Colombian is currently entering the final six months of a loan spell at Bayern Munich from Real Madrid, while the German side reportedly hold a €35m option to sign him permanently.

However, it is unclear if this option will be exercised by the Bundesliga champions while reports suggest Juve hold the greatest interest in the player.

Last month, it was reported The Old Lady’s sporting director Fabio Paratici was to hold talks with the midfielder’s agent Jorge Mendes at an event in Dubai, where the possibility of a transfer will be discussed.

The creative midfielder joined Bayern in the summer of 2017 on a two-year loan deal from Madrid but reports suggested he had fallen out of favour under new boss Niko Kovac.

The former Porto and Monaco star spent three seasons at Los Blancos, helping them to two European titles, but started just 13 La Liga games in his final campaign.
