Santiago Solari hails ‘complete’ Benzema after Espanyol win

Real Madrid boss Santiago Solari was full of praise for Karim Benzema, after the striker's brace in Sunday's 4-2 win over Espanyol.

The French striker netted his eighth and ninth La Liga goal in the victory, and Solari hailed the recent form of the former Lyon striker.

"Benzema always gives complete performances.

"Today he scored two beautiful goals, but this only confirms what he has been doing all season and for most of his career."

Real face another two games in the next seven days, and Solari added that the focus now is on recovering and preparing for the games come to.

"We make an effort to be better everyday and today we are happy with the win, although it is a pity that we ended the game with a man less (after Raphael Varane's red card)."

Real will be without the French defender for three games following his dismissal, and Dani Carvajal for one match, after he collected his fifth league booking of the season against Espanyol.

Captain Sergio Ramos was withdrawn at half time with a knee injury, and Solari confirmed that he will be assessed later in the week.
