Jeison Murillo says it is ‘a dream come true’ to join Barcelona and that ‘I’m a quick, intelligent player, who has good feet and always gets stuck in.’
Murillo joined Barca on an initial loan deal from Valencia earlier in the week, and the Colombia defender assured he had what it took to succeed at Camp Nou.
“I feel fantastic and I’m very happy,” the 26-year-old said in a video posted by the club’s official Twitter account.
“It’s a dream come true. Now all that’s left is to work and do things in the best way so I can show why I’m here.
“I’m a quick, intelligent player, who has good feet and always gets stuck in. I’m here to make myself available to the coaching staff and also enjoy a little bit of this great club, who are the best in the world.
“I’m very happy and I hope everything goes well. A couple of years ago I came here to train.
“I was a Las Palmas player at the time and I told someone that one day I’d come here wearing the Barcelona jersey as one of them, and now my dream has come true.”
The Blaugrana have since confirmed that Murillo will be presented on December 27 before becoming eligible for official matches a week later.
