Bayern Munich CEO Karl Heinz Rummenigge ‘cannot confirm or deny’ a report in Marca that the club will sign Atletico Madrid’s Lucas Hernandez.
The Madrid-based daily newspaper claims Bayern have triggered the player’s €85m release clause and agreed personal terms, concluding a four-year contract.
“I cannot confirm or deny anything at this moment,” Rummenigge told Sport Bild, as cited by Cadena Cope.
“We are currently in the process of considering what we will do in January, if anything, but we have not yet decided upon anything.
“If we have any interest in a player, we will inform Atletico – with whom we have a great relationship.”
Meanwhile, Atleti sporting director Andrea Berta added on Sport 1: “We cannot comment on this matter, it should be put to Rummenigge.
“The player has told me he wishes to remain with us.”
