Ajax duo Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong ‘waiting’ on Barcelona

Ajax duo Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong (pictured) are both ‘waiting’ on transfers to Barcelona, report El Mundo Deportivo.

The report states that whilst the two players do not yet know their future, they wish to continue playing together and see the Catalan giants as their first choice.

Manchester City, Paris Saint Germain and Bayern Munich are among the clubs who have also been linked with moves for both players, but the Camp Nou appears a more likely destination.

Both players are ‘very clear’ about their desire to continue playing together and their belief that the Barca style and current squad would best fit their future development.

The Blaugrana representatives Eric Abidal and Ramon Planes are said to have met in Amsterdam with Mino Raiola, representative of De Ligt while Abidal himself spoke personally with De Jong.

PSG and City’s Financial Fair Play pressures may clear the way for Barca, with De Jong reportedly valued at €75m and De Ligt at €65m.
