Keylor Navas among absentees for Real Madrid’s trip to Roma

Real Madrid have named their 20-man squad for their midweek Champions League trip to Roma but there is no return for goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

The Costa Rican was not included in the squad for Saturday’s humiliating defeat at Eibar after undergoing stem cell treatment on his knee.

However, despite hopes he would be back for the trip to Italy he has not recovered in time, while there is a host of defensively-minded players also absent.

Full-back Alvaro Odriozola is ruled out after picking up a knee injury at Ipurua while Nacho Fernandez, Sergio Reguilon, Jesus Vallejo and Casemiro are still ruled out.

Madrid have three victories from their four Champions League group games to date.

Defenders: Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo, Javi Sánchez
