Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto out for ‘3-4 weeks’

Barcelona have confirmed that Sergi Roberto could miss the rest of the year after he picked up a hamstring injury against Atletico Madrid.

Sergi Roberto pulled up just before half-time during Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Wanda Metropolitano, and Barca announced after the game that he sustained ‘a hamstring injury in his left leg’.

The 26-year-old consequently underwent tests on Sunday, which revealed a tear to the muscle.

He will certainly miss the Blaugrana’s next five matches, among them Champions League clashes with PSV and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as the Catalan derby against Espanyol.

On top of that, the defender-midfielder could skip his side’s final Liga fixtures of 2018 against Levante and Celta Vigo.
