Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema: Santiago Solari until the end of the season!

Karim Benzema claims Santiago Solari should coach Real Madrid until the end of the season and that ‘people don’t understand what I do on the field’.

“I’m happy with the win and the goals we scored,” said the striker after his brace in a 5-1 Blancos victory over Viktoria Plzen on Wednesday.

“We also managed what was a difficult match, but with confidence we did good things.

“Every year is the same with regards to criticism. I play football to make history and be at the highest level.

“Sometimes people don’t understand what I do on the field. I’m here to help my teammates and give my all.

“The criticism doesn’t hurt. I’m 30 years old, I have children… it’s always been like this. Today we played beautifully.

“We played like the Madrid that everyone wants to see, but football isn’t easy. Teams always want to have good games at the Bernabeu. We have to work hard to win games.

“I don’t feel any pressure to score. That’s something from the outside. I’m here to help.

“When I’m given the ball, I try to score goals. The important thing is to win games. Solari until the end of the season? Sure, why not? We’re fine with him.”
