Barcelona believe the ‘mystery’ €70m offer for Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong has come from Manchester City, say El Mundo Deportivo.
The report says the Catalan giants believe the central midfielder is happy in Amsterdam and is not willing to leave the club, for whom he has a contract until 2022.
Barca believe the bid which has been spoken about for the Dutch international has come from their former employee Txiki Begiristain, now at Manchester City.
The 21-year-old made his Netherlands debut last month and last season registered seven assists from 22 Eredivisie appearances leading to interest from a number of clubs.
