Real Madrid’s Marcelo fit for El Clasico

Marcelo is set to be fit to start for Real Madrid against Barcelona in Sunday’s first El Clasico of the season, it is reported.

The Brazilian trained for Madrid on Thursday despite limping out of Tuesday night’s narrow Champions League victory over Viktoria Plzen with a leg injury.

The left-back has been an ever-important player for Julen Lopetegui’s side and has netted in each of his side’s last two games – against Viktoria and in Saturday’s loss to Levante.

Dani Carvajal is still unavailable with an injury and is set to be replaced by Alvaro Odriozola or Nacho Fernandez, while Mariano Diaz is set to travel despite not being 100% fit.
