Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema admits he ‘needs to score more goals’ after netting against Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday.
The French forward had gone eight games without a goal before scoring against the Czech side and his lack of goals – just five in La Liga last season – have been critically highlighted.
“I am not tired, I just need to score more goals,” Benzema told Diario AS after the match.
“I have a lot of motivation to do this because it is something that is prominent in my thinking and I want to put this right.
“We have confidence in our Coach, you cannot only blame the management for results but the players also as we are the ones on the pitch.
“We have to do more for him as he selects us for the team and we need to start winning together more regularly.”
