Thierry Henry speaks to Zinedine Zidane on coaching

New Monaco boss Thierry Henry admits he is a ‘great admirer’ of former Real Madrid Coach Zinedine Zidane.

The two were previously teammates for the French national team and Henry is now embarking on his first job in management after his appointment at the struggling Ligue 1 side.

“It would be fantastic to be as successful as them,” Henry replied to reporters when asked if Zidane and Didier Deschamps were models for his ideas.

“I have great admiration for both of them and I do not need to explain why this is true, everyone knows what they have done.

“When I see ‘Dede’ or ‘Zizou’ and we are talking, it is strange because in the past we used to speak about football and now we talk about coaching.

“When we talk about a game, we talk about the tactical aspect of it – what were you trying to achieve or not achieve there, did it work?

“Everyone has their own opinion and their own way to work, but obviously there are an example to everyone, especially French people.”
