Manchester United want to sign Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba and are encouraged by his contractual situation, say reports.
The 29-year-old has played more than 250 matches for the Blaugrana after his 2012 move from Valencia, but his contract expires in June 2020.
The delay in the Spain international extending his contract has encouraged the Red Devils, Diario Sport report, citing English radio station TalkSport.
The defender last signed a contract extension at the Camp Nou in 2015 and the club’s delay in offering a renovation may drive him away, the report concludes.
