Former Real Madrid youth team coach Guti is ‘evolving’ in his role as Besiktas assistant and would like his own managerial role soon.
The former Madrid midfielder left his role with the club’s Juvenil side this summer after five years to be number two to Senol Gunes at the Turkish giants.
“I took the step of leaving the Real Madrid academy to go to Turkey to continue to grow as a coach,” Guti told an interview with Marca.
“You do not have to be in a hurry but I want to continue evolving and hopefully I will be a first-team Coach before long, but my focus is on Besiktas.
“I am really enjoying my time in Turkey, I am working with a great manager who has many years of experience and who I am learning a lot from.
“Julen Lopetegui? Real Madrid must show patience, he is a great Coach who did a fantastic job with the Spanish national team.”
