Winger Jesus Navas has confirmed Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is still a Sevilla fan, ahead of the two meeting on Wednesday night.
Madrid have a notoriously poor record away to the Andalusian side, losing the last three league meetings – with former Sevilla defender Ramos often in the middle of the action.
“Sergio Ramos is a Sevillista, he has been since childhood,” Navas, who played with Ramos with both Sevilla and Spain, told an interview with Marca.
“He was raised in the neighbourhood and is totally aware of the goings on at the club, he is still a fan.
“We have experienced many great moments together over the years, I’m very fond of him and we have been close from childhood right up to the national team.
“We always call each other and talk frequently about things, and of course it is always special lining up against him too.
“Whenever we play at home, we go out and try to win the game, it does not matter who the opponents are – we always want to make it difficult for them.”
